CyanogenMod was the biggest OS community in the Android ROM since its inception. It was the most greats supported, feature-rich ROM spanning back to some of the first Android phones on the market, and even got big enough that they had some indirect head butting going on with Google. CyanogenMod is shutting down, bringing an end to an era of Android operating system biggest. the company has been going troubles with its CEO being leaving.
CyanogenMod and all related services are shutting down at the end of the year. The news arrive from a blog on the CM site, but it more than likely has to do with Cyanogen serveices. After the services shut down, the source code will still be available for anyone that wants to built it on their own Android System OS.
As part of the ongoing consolidation of Cyanogen, all services and Cyanogen-supported nightly builds will be discontinued no later than 12/31/16. The open source project and source code will remain available for anyone who wants to build CyanogenMod personally.
